Each Wednesday, LJES students get out at 12:45PM - A perfect opportunity to enroll your child in an after school activity! LJES offers a variety of classes starting at 1:05PM.
Session Dates for the 2011/2012 school year:
SESSION 1: Sept 7, 14, 21, 28, Oct. 5, 12, 19, 26.
SESSION 2: Nov 2, 9, 30, Dec. 7, 14.
SESSION 3: Jan. 4, 11, 18, 25, Feb. 1, 8, 15, 22.
SESSION 4: Feb. 29, Mar. 7, 14, 21, Apr. 11, 18, 25.
SESSION 5: May 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, June 6.
PLEASE NOTE: We offer supervision for your children between 12:45 and 1:05PM on Wednesdays, at no additional cost, for those parents who cannot escort their child to their after school class! You MUST enroll in this program if you will not be supervising your child during this time. Please download the Child Supervision Enrollment Form to register. THIS INFORMATION MUST BE GIVEN TO THE OFFICE EACH SESSION SO WE KNOW WHAT CLASS YOUR CHILD IS ENROLLED IN! If you have already handed in the form earlier this school year, you may click here and fill out the information requested and email to the office as opposed to filling out the entire form.

CHESS
International Master Larry Evans and staff teach chess in 35 schools throughout San Diego (for a complete list, select School Programs on our website www.chesscamp.net). The program (once featured on The Tonight Show) has produced national champions at every scholastic level. Children come from all over to study at our summer camps in Lake Arrowhead & Balboa Park. Our program, dubbed "The Evans Method" by the United States Chess Federation, includes instruction, formal and casual play and team events on our giant Harry Potter chess set. KIDS KREATIONS
KIDSKREATIONS Presents HEART TO HEART FUN! Each week your child will awaken their creativity with a unique, hands-on, quality project including I love FLuffies, Spa-tacular, Li'l Chocolatier, Fun with Fabric, St. Valentine and Heart of Glass. With Ms. Joanne's proven step-by-step technique, these classes are perfect for any age. To read more details click on sign-up form. MUSICAL MINDS (Keyboarding)
Kids will have the opportunity to learn to play their favorite songs and music on electric keyboards. Radio hits, movie and television themes are made so easy, that our participants will be playing them after the very first class! The club is a combination of keyboard piano lessons and a music learning workshop, which uses a clever visual method to teach the basics of music reading and piano playing. We have developed lots of learning games and activities designed to instruct students in the fundamentals of music theory, in ways that are fun, engaging, and stimulating. We want our students to stay motivated and continue to want to learn to play music, whether they like Michael Jackson or Beethoven, the Black Eyes Peas or Bach. We have all the music they want. We have music from Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Harry Potter, Taylor Swift, the Black Eyed Peas, Selena Gomez and more. Each participant has his/her own keyboard supplied during the class, along with headphones, and books and other materials are included. ART INNOVATORS
KidzArt is now Art Innovators!!! Same great program, just a new name! Art Innovators is a drawing based art enrichment program that builds self-confidence, focus, and problem solving skills in a safe and non-competitive environment. Students will learn to draw lifelike people and animals, still-life scenes, landscapes, and other representational pieces while using Prismacolor markers, chalks, oil pastels, and watercolor pencils. Art Innovators creates a FUN environment where students can experience relaxation, introspection, and true self expression with their art. LJES Gleeks! is a glee club for 3rd-5th graders who have a passion for singing! We offer music education for aspiring vocalists in a supportive and encouraging environment and we sing cool, hit songs. We strongly believe performance builds confidence so we offer our Gleeks an opportunity to perform in front of an audience at the end of the session. Your LJES Gleeks! teachers, Jill Nooren and Jojo Hahn are educators and real life performers. We recommend signing up early to assure a spot. This fun, high-energy class enables boys to be boys and girls to let loose while developing creativity, coordination, musicality and listening skills. Activities include basic hip-hop moves, tumbling, and dance games in a non-stop environment.

$150 payable to EvOLvE Dance by 1/4/12.

Have your child become a Play-Well Engineer! Students explore concepts in physics, architecture, mechanical and structural engineering, from Gear Cars to Battletracks. The engineer-designed curriculum challenges new and returning students to reach higher levels of engineering comprehension while having fun.
