Each Wednesday, LJES students get out at 12:45PM. A perfect opportunity to enroll your child in an after school activity! LJES offers a variety of classes starting at 1:05PM. See below for what is being offered (3/3/10 - 4/21/10).
PLEASE NOTE: We offer supervision for your children between 12:45 and 1:05PM on Wednesdays, at no additional cost, for those parents who cannot escort their child to their after school class! You MUST enroll in this program if you will not be supervising your child during this time. Please download the Child Supervision Enrollment Form to register. THIS INFORMATION MUST BE GIVEN TO THE OFFICE EACH SESSION SO WE KNOW WHAT CLASS YOUR CHILD IS ENROLLED IN! If you have already handed in the form earlier this school year, you may click here and fill out the information requested and email to the office as opposed to filling out the entire form.

CHESS
International Master Larry Evans and staff teach chess in 35 schools throughout San Diego (for a complete list, select School Programs on our website www.chesscamp.net). The program (once featured on The Tonight Show) has produced national champions at every scholastic level. Children come from all over to study at our summer camps in Lake Arrowhead & Balboa Park. Our program, dubbed "The Evans Method" by the United States Chess Federation, includes instruction, formal and casual play and team events on our giant Harry Potter chess set. European trained, member of California Music Teacher's Association and the San Diego Flute Guild, Ms. Bergova earned the "Best Flute Teacher of the Year" award in her native Czech Republic. Her outstanding credentials include a dual Master's degree from the prestigious Leningrad Conservatory and from the Prague Academy of Music. SPORTS ACADEMY
The San Diego Sports Academy would like to develop basic coordination, quickness and other skills for a variety of sports, as well as a love of movement. There will be two or three different sports each meeting. The sports are: Soccer, Basketball, Dodgeball, German Basketball (a variation of kickball & basketball), Wiffleball and Handball. Critters Workshops ....Each week your child will awaken their creativity with unique hands-on , quality ,fun projects . With Ms. Joanne's proven step-by-step techniques your child will enjoy the process of creating with a variety of exciting new materials ! Ages K-5th will make and take home "Springtime Critters" to include : Snakes In The Grass : create your own garden snake with fluffy stuffing and iridescent paints for a true reptile look. Chicks In The Nest : weave colorful wooly yarn into a cozy nest for chicks . Pigs In The Mud : be a little pastry chef and make a edible pink piggy , complete with hay and mud ! Frogs In The Pond : concoct clever homemade soaps...with a leaping frog . Flowers In The Pot : make a springtime centerpiece ; plant a flower...add glittery eggs and birds . This session of Engineering FUNdamentals introduces students to basics of physics and mechanical engineering through a fun and familiar medium--LEGO!
