Volunteering at LJES is easier than ever! If you would like to help with a specific event, volunteer for a school committee or simply let us know you're happy to help, please register with our web-based volunteer program. Art Room Volunteer - Love art? Assist the art teacher on an as needed basis and help prepare our school wide art show.
Read Me a Story - It's a fact, reading to children helps them succeed. Dedicate one hour every week and make a difference in a student's life!
Charity Program - The students, parents and staff of LJES believe in giving back to our community and helping those less fortunate. We encourage charities to use our school as a way to help their causes (no soliciting for money). Help the Charity Chair organize these events at our school.
Room Parent - Be directly involved in your child's classroom as the liaison between school and parents. Training and handbooks are provided.
eScrip - Help parents enroll in this organization to earn our school much needed extra funds.
Tidings Newsletter - Positions needed: Advertising Manager, "Meet the Parents" columnist, Photo Wrangler.
Eye/Hearing - Tests Occasionally, for two hours the day of the testing help escort students to and from vision and hearing tests located on the school grounds.
Traffic Helper - The number one priority at our school is the safety of our children! Help guide drivers at pick up - no experience necessary - one time a week (or more).
Yearbook - Help produce what is sure to be one of your child's favorite keepsakes - our full color yearbook! Take pictures, design the layout for a whole grade - the opportunities are endless!
Hospitality/Baked Goods - Help with the luncheons, BBQs and social gatherings that make LJES such a wonderful school! Prepare baked goods, hot/cold foods and/or get flowers for our events.
Ice Cream Sales - Help set up and sell ice cream to our students and their parents on half-day Wednesdays! (One hour, twice a month)
Library Volunteer - Do you love to read? Spend time in our great library assisting librarian with her needs, reshelf etc.
Logowear - Help outfit our kids with LJES logowear! Take on a bigger role or simply sell clothes during pizza Wednesday - the choice is yours!
Music Room Volunteer - Have a love for music? Assist the music teacher on an as needed basis.
Office Volunteer - Due to the budget cuts, we lost some crucial office help. We need help in the office (no training needed) in the morning from 8:45 to 9:30 or in the afternoon from 2:45 - 3:35 - one shift per week is all we ask! If you can help, please sign up now! No experience necessary.
Open Aire Market Ambassadors and Family Events Planning Chair - Assist the Friends of LJES Board with the Open Aire Market on Sundays and/or help organize special family activities on holidays.
Photography - Are you the kind of person who always has their camera with them? If so, sign up here to help us memorialize our special events forever!
Pizza Sales - Help set up and sell pizza to our students and their parents on half-day Wednesdays! (One hour, twice a month)
Public Relations - Help get the word out about how wonderful our school really is!
Research Fundraising Opportunities - Responsible for researching and identifying public and private fundraising opportunities as well as presenting recommendations(s) to the Friend's Board for strategic planning and implementation.

Book Fair 11/9-20/09 - Want to encourage reading at LJES? Volunteer for our school Book Fair! All proceeds will benefit our school library.
Family Dance 11/19/09 - Help organize, set up and clean up this fun, family-friendly night!
Holiday Caroling Help organize and costume our students for a fun night of holiday singing through La Jolla!
Movie Night 1/22/09 - Help sell baked goods, popcorn and glow bracelets and this fun-filled, family event!
Talent Show 2/19/10 - Help with try-outs, decorations, set up/clean up, and all the fun in between!
Science Night 3/5/10 - Help with one of the most hands on, fun-filled, educational nights at LJES - Science Night!
Gala 3/20/10 - Help Friends of LJES with our biggest fundraiser of the year! Many volunteer opportunities available.
